AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday praised security agencies for the arrest of the three terrorists that carried out the deadly attack in Karak on Friday that left nine people dead and more than 30 others injured.
In a post on X, the King said the security forces had pursued the terrorists and reaffirmed that those responsible would face justice.
“The Nashama (the brave ones) have chased them to the very end. We vowed the terrorists would not escape punishment, and no proponent of dark ideologies that divide Jordanians will be tolerated,” he wrote.
“We pray that the martyrs’ souls rest in peace and wish the injured a speedy recovery. May God protect and watch over Jordan and its people,” the King added.
The Public Security Directorate announced on Monday the arrest of three suspects in connection with the attack on a church in the village of Hmoud in Karak.
On Friday, gunmen opened fire on people attending a funeral service at the church, killing seven people at the scene and injuring dozens. Two more victims died the following day, bringing the death toll to nine.
