AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Monday held a phone call with Peruvian Foreign Minister Carlos Pareja to discuss bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation in the economic and tourism sectors, as well as coordination within international organisations.

 

The talks focused on an agreement to hold the first round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of Jordan and Peru as soon as possible, in implementation of a memorandum of understanding signed by the two countries in 2005.

 

Safadi and Pareja also discussed regional developments and efforts to end the escalation, restore calm and achieve security and stability in the region.

 

Safadi congratulated Pareja on his appointment as foreign minister, expressing his commitment to working together to strengthen relations between the two friendly countries and coordinate on issues of mutual interest.
