AMMAN — The Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army on Friday started the first phase of evacuating Jordanians who were being quarantined in the Dead Sea area, releasing 564 out of a total 2,790 people after they completed their 17-day mandatory quarantine period.
The evacuation plan, put in place in accordance with maximum safety standards, has been carried out in cooperation with the National Centre for Security and Crisis Management's crisis cell and related bodies, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported
Royal Medical Services teams conducted clinical tests prior to the Jordanians’ release in accordance with health protocol. The evacuees must undergo a 14-day mandatory quarantine at their homes after their release from the institutional quarantine, Petra said.
The government has taken numerous preventive measures to halt the outbreak of COVID-19, including imposing a 17-day mandatory quarantine on all arrivals to the Kingdom at allocated quarantine sites, Petra added.
