AMMAN — The National Programme for Economic Awareness and Financial Literacy, titled "Your Financial Compass," was launched on Tuesday by Ad-Dustour Centre for Economic Studies, with support from CFI Jordan, during a press conference attended by key economic figures.
Speakers included CEO of the Amman Stock Exchange Mazen Wathaifi, CEO of CFI Jordan Loay Azar, and President of Ad-Dustour Centre Awni Al Daoud.
The initiative, set to begin in May, aims to strengthen financial literacy and deepen public understanding of economic and investment concepts across Jordan, according to d-Dustour Centre for Economic Studies.
The programme is built on specialised content developed by economic experts and will be delivered across all governorates in partnership with universities, as well as youth and women’s groups.
It adopts an interactive, dialogue-based approach to improve financial awareness and decision-making at the societal level.
In his remarks, Wathaifi expressed appreciation for the Centre’s efforts in promoting financial literacy, while also highlighting CFI Jordan’s role in supporting such initiatives.
He said the programme reflects a unified national effort targeting all regions, with a particular focus on women, youth, and media professionals.
Wathaifi added that the ASE does not limit its role to regulating and managing trading or developing the market, but also works to enhance investment culture and raise awareness among investors through continuous engagement with the local community.
He noted that the exchange has launched several initiatives, including an "Investor Culture" section on its website and virtual seminars aimed at improving public understanding of market mechanisms.
For his part, Azar said that supporting "Your Financial Compass" aligns with CFI Jordan’s long-term commitment to empowering individuals through knowledge.
"The expansion of investment opportunities in the Jordanian market today is accompanied by a parallel challenge represented by the diversity and varying accuracy of information sources, making financial knowledge a true foundation for responsible decision-making," he said.
He added that the initiative contributes to building a more aware and mature economic culture, particularly among youth and women.
Al Daoud described the programme as a nationwide effort to promote financial literacy across all segments of society.
He said it will be implemented in cooperation with universities, women’s unions, and youth organisations, focusing on key areas such as financial literacy, economic indicators, trading mechanisms, and the distinction between trading and long-term investment.
Al Daoud stressed that the initiative "would not have been possible without the support of CFI Jordan and its belief in the importance of national initiatives," noting that the partnership reflects a shared commitment to expanding economic knowledge, especially among young people and women.
He also highlighted collaboration with national media outlets and economic experts in delivering the programme.
President of Ad-Dustour Centre announced that activities will begin in Ajloun on May 11, followed by Jerash on May 20, before expanding to the rest of the Kingdom.
He further praised the support of the ASE, noting that its leadership has helped strengthen confidence in the market despite regional challenges, according d-Dustour Centre.
