Gov’t affirms readiness to deal with any threats to Jordan's safety, security

AMMAN — The government on Sunday urged all parties to exercise restraint and deal with the current regional tensions in a disciplined and responsible manner, to avoid any escalation that could lead to serious consequences.
 
The Cabinet, during a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh, underscored the importance of pushing forward de-escalation efforts, highlighting the significant and dangerous repercussions of regional escalation on international security and peace.
 
 
The Council of Ministers also called on media outlets to verify information with utmost accuracy and to obtain it from official and reliable channels
 
The Cabinet also warned against the spread of rumours, inaccurate news, or misinformation that could cause fear, anxiety, and doubt among the public, reaffirming commitment to address such issues firmly and legally.
 
The government also reassured the public that the situation in the Kingdom remains stable, with all public and private sector institutions, including education, health and service institutions, operating normally.
 
The Cabinet reiterated the readiness of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army and other security agencies to address threats to the country to ensure the safety and security of the Kingdom and its citizens.
 
The Cabinet also said that all "flying objects" that entered the Kingdom's airspace on Saturday night were all intercepted to prevent any potential harm to citizens or residential areas, adding that debris from the drones fell in several locations and no significant damage or injuries were reported.
