Outpatient clinics shut in Health Ministry hospitals

The Jordan Times

AMMAN — Health Minister Nathir Obeidat on Saturday announced the closure of outpatient clinics in the ministry's hospitals as of Sunday until further notice.

The decision included Al Bashir, Jamil Al Totanji, “Al Salt New hospital”, Al Hussein, Al Zarqa new public hospital, Prince Feisal, and Al Nadim hospitals.

According to a ministry statement, these hospitals' health care services will be restricted to emergency treatment and offering monthly medications for patients with chronic conditions, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

All scheduled surgeries will be suspended due to the Kingdom's epidemiological situation, notably due to the rise in COVID-19 infections. The decision will be amended in accordance with the epidemiological update, the statement added.
