Kamala Harris refuses to attend Netanyahu’s speech to U.S. Congress

Roya News

U.S. Vice President and the presumptive Democratic nominee Kamala Harris has declined to preside over the Senate chamber when “Israeli” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addresses a joint meeting of Congress tomorrow, Wednesday – according to two people privy to the matter cited by The Washington Post.

Harris’s team informed the Senate she would not preside over the Netanyahu speech even before Biden announced Sunday that he was no longer running for reelection.

Senator Patty Murray (D-Wash.) also declined to preside over the joint meeting, according to her spokesperson.

Netanyahu, who departed for Washington yesterday, is set to meet with President Joe Biden and Kamala Harris during his trip, in what he called a “very important trip” that comes at a time of “great political uncertainty.”

He is also expected to meet with the Republican party nominee Donald Trump, per yet unconfirmed information.
