AMMAN — Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti on Sunday inaugurated the Prince Faisal Main Workshops of the Royal Maintenance Corps at their new site, part of ongoing efforts to modernise the military maintenance system and strengthen logistical support.

 

Huneiti was received by the Director of the Royal Maintenance Corps and the commander of the workshops, and he was briefed on the technical and logistical operations that support various formations and units of the Jordan Armed Forces–Arab Army (JAF).

 

The briefing also covered the workshops’ technical and technological capabilities, as well as modernisation plans designed to meet operational requirements and improve overall efficiency, according to a JAF statement.

 

Accompanied by several senior Armed Forces officers, Huneiti stressed that the development of military maintenance workshops represents a strategic step toward military industrial empowerment. He noted that the move provides the Armed Forces with greater flexibility in maintenance and modernisation while enhancing the responsiveness and operational readiness of field units under diverse conditions.

 

He also highlighted the workshops’ vital role in localising expertise, transferring technology, and training specialised personnel in military industries and technologies.

 

The initiative forms part of comprehensive plans by the General Command to modernise technical facilities, keep pace with technological developments, and establish a modern national defence infrastructure that reinforces overall readiness and sustains operational efficiency.

 

Constructed on a 165-dunum site according to the latest technical and engineering standards, the Prince Faisal Main Workshops were executed under the supervision of the Arab International Construction and Contracting Company. The facilities are designed to enhance maintenance efficiency, accelerate operational output, and improve the technical reliability of military vehicles and equipment.
