Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ayman Safadi, met Sunday with Palestinian Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohammad Mustafa.

The two officials reaffirmed the deep and historic ties between Jordan and Palestine, emphasizing their shared commitment to supporting the Palestinian people and their right to freedom and an independent, sovereign state on their national soil – a statement by Jordan’s Foreign Minister said.

Safadi and Mustafa discussed ongoing efforts to negotiate a truce to end “Israel’s” aggression on Gaza and address the resulting humanitarian catastrophe.

“Safadi stressed that the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967, lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the two-state solution, is the only path to lasting peace. He reiterated that this is a priority championed by His Majesty King Abdullah II, who continues to dedicate Jordan’s resources to achieving this goal,” the statement said.

“Mustafa expressed gratitude for Jordan’s historic stance and King Abdullah II’s significant efforts in supporting the Palestinian people and their full rights. He underscored that Jordan remains Palestine’s closest ally and steadfast advocate for Palestinian rights,” it concluded.
