AMMAN — The Public Prosecutor’s office on Saturday filed charges against the main defendant and others in a case involving the seizure of rotten rice. The main defendant in the case is the general manager of the company in question.

 

The charges include: Trading in food unfit for human consumption, trading in expired food and trading in food with a false product label. Attorney General Hassan Abdallat said that the case files were referred by the Jordan Food and Drug Administration on September 17. If found guilty, the defendants could face up to three years in prison, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
