AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah, in a phone call on Thursday, exchanged Eid Al Fitr wishes with Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

 

The two leaders emphasised the need to rely on diplomacy, and step up regional and international efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region, according to a Royal Court statement.

 

In another call on Thursday, His Majesty exchanged Eid Al Fitr wishes with Bahrain King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

 

The two leaders discussed the latest developments in the region and reaffirmed their commitment to continuing to work together to bring about a de-escalation and restore stability, another Royal Court statement said.

 

Also on Thursday, His Majesty exchanged Eid Al Fitr wishes with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in a phone call.

 

The two leaders discussed the importance of stepping up Arab efforts to achieve comprehensive de-escalation in the region, according to a Royal Court statement.

 

His Majesty warned of the dangers of the current escalation being used as a pretext to impose new facts on the ground in Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Gaza, emphasising the need for Al Aqsa Mosque to be open to worshippers.
