RJ suspends flights to Rome

The Jordan Times

AMMAN — Royal Jordanian (RJ) has suspended its Amman-Rome flights, starting from Wednesday until further notice, the national carrier said.

At this stage, RJ is also consolidating several flights from Amman to its stations in the Far East, bringing the average cancellations of weekly Asian operations to up to 50 per cent, the company announced on its website.

RJ President/CEO Stefan Pichler stressed that these decisions are aimed at the safety of travellers, which Royal Jordanian places at the top of its priorities, and in light of the increasing numbers of coronavirus infections in Italy and some Asian countries.

He added that RJ is taking all possible measures to help Jordan stay virus-free. Pichler said that Royal Jordanian applies in this regard all the instructions issued by the Jordanian authorities and by international organisations related to the procedures of transportation from some countries to the Kingdom. RJ is currently taking precautionary measures to protect crewmembers, front-line staff and travellers, to ensure their safety.
