A large explosion occurred in several cars inside a parking lot in Beirut's Hamra district, following a fire caused by an electrical generator. The incident triggered panic as firefighting teams rushed to the scene, battling the blaze that remained out of control.
Lebanese authorities are actively managing the situation, with Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi closely monitoring the efforts.
In a phone call with the General Director of Civil Defense, Mawlawi emphasized the urgency of containing the fire and preventing it from spreading to nearby cars and buildings.
In response, Mawlawi instructed swift action to control the fire and coordinated with Beirut Governor Marwan Abboud to ensure the Beirut Fire Brigade received the necessary support.
Additionally, efforts are underway to rescue people trapped in neighboring buildings as the fire continues to pose a threat.
