AMMAN — Secretary-General of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply Dana Zoubi on Tuesday represented Jordan at the Cairo-hosted 116th ordinary session of the Arab Economic and Social Council.
The meeting was held in preparation for the ministerial-level session of the council, scheduled for Wednesday at the Arab League headquarters, the ministry said.
Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Economic Affairs Sector at the Arab League Ali Malki said that the session’s agenda includes over 30 economic and social topics, some as standing items.
Malki added that other items follow up on previous decisions issued by the Arab Development, Economic and Social Summit and the Economic and Social Council, alongside new topics proposed by member states.
The meeting discussed proposals including the establishment of the Arab drug authority, the Arab ministers’ council for artificial intelligence, the Arab ministers of trade council, the Arab customs affairs council, and the Arab artificial intelligence centre in Baghdad.
