The Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), in coordination with the security services and the Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) administration, started on Friday, May 15, applying procedures to receive Jordanian students and citizens stranded abroad, according to instructions issued by the National Center for Security and Crisis Management, in order to ensure their safety within the health and medical procedures.

The airports security and protection director, Brigadier General Khaled Al-Shanteer said that the second phase includes the return of passengers from 12 countries, starting from May 15, until Monday morning, May 18, Jordan News Agency (Petra) reported.

Shanteer indicated that three flights arrived on Friday, carrying 653 passengers from Cairo, Jeddah and Dubai.

The competent medical teams received travelers upon their arrival at the airport to conduct medical and precautionary checks and sterilize them and their personal luggage. After that, the arrivals got onto buses designated for their transportation to the quarantine locations that were earlier prepared.

These precautionary measures are part of the preventive measures implemented by JAF, the government, the security agencies, and various state institutions to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
