Foreign Ministry expresses condolences to Libya, solidarity with Pakistan, supports Yemen prisoner exchange

AMMAN — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday expressed its sincere condolences to the government and people of Libya over the death of Libyan Army Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Mohammed Al Haddad, and members of his accompanying delegation in a plane crash that claimed their lives.
Spokesperson Fuad Majali reiterated Jordan’s sympathy and full solidarity with the Libyan government and people, extending heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, according to a ministry statement.
The foreign ministry also welcomed the agreement signed in Muscat, Oman, on the exchange of prisoners and detainees in Yemen.
Majali expressed Jordan’s support for the accord and commended the efforts of Oman, Saudi Arabia, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy to Yemen, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and all parties involved in reaching the agreement.
He reiterated Jordan’s commitment to supporting all initiatives aimed at achieving peace, security, and stability in Yemen, in line with the aspirations of the Yemeni people.
Also on Wednesday, the ministry condemned a terrorist attack targeting Pakistani police personnel in northwestern Pakistan, which resulted in the deaths of several officers.
Majali reaffirmed Jordan’s full solidarity with the government and people of Pakistan, reiterating the kingdom’s rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism aimed at undermining security and stability. He also extended Jordan’s condolences to the families of the victims.
