AMMAN — Eighty per cent of Jordanians are in favour of the government’s decisions related to closing the border crossings and the lockdown, according to a study conducted by the Association of Jordanian Women Academics.

The opinion poll, which surveyed a representative sample of 1,110 Jordanians including 777 females and 333 males, revealed that 88.8 per cent of the respondents appeared to be content with the Kingdom’s handling of the COVID-19 crisis, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The study examined the social, psychological and economic impact of the coronavirus crisis between mid-March and early June and showed that the government’s support for those affected by the crisis has increased respondents’ sense of the need for providing assistance to those affected by the pandemic.
