JHCO launches empowerment projects in Karak

The Jordan Times

AMMAN — The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) has launched a series of training initiatives under its “Empowerment and Impact” projects in the southern governorates, starting in Karak, aiming to foster socio-economic self-reliance and transform local skills into sustainable opportunities.

As part of the “Arzaq” project, 10 women participated in punch needle embroidery workshops to create handmade crafts, while another 10 joined 3D foam art sessions.

Meanwhile, 12 men took part in a carpentry course designed to equip them with practical skills for the local labour market, according to a JHCO statement.

The JHCO’s “Tama’nah” psychosocial support project hosted a “Morning Coffee” session for 25 women, providing a platform for social cohesion and positive dialogue.

The “Tarabot” Community Centre engaged 140 children in an interactive play, alongside a T-shirt printing activity aimed at nurturing creativity and artistic expression among youth.

JHCO stressed that these initiatives form part of a holistic vision to invest in human capital and strengthen local capacities to promote self-sufficiency. The organisation noted that the southern governorates remain a developmental priority due to their significant untapped potential.

The charity reiterated its commitment to implementing developmental and humanitarian projects across Jordan, seeking to achieve a lasting and tangible impact on both individuals and society.
