Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said Thursday that Jordan rejects “Israeli” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “claims regarding the Philadelphi Corridor and the border with Jordan”.

 

In a joint press conference with German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, Safadi reiterated Jordan’s rejection of “Israeli” presence near the Gaza border with Egypt, and called for a full withdrawal from the Gaza Strip.

 

“We have stated that we will not accept any approach that treats Gaza as a separate entity from the West Bank,” Safadi added.

 

“We support an overarching initiative with political and security aspects to prevent any future tragedies in the region,” he continued.

 

Safadi warned “Israel” that any attempt to displace Palestinians from the West Bank to Jordan is tantamount to a declaration of war and is considered a “red line” for the Kingdom.

 

He added that Jordan will not participate and will not “send our soldiers to any Israeli security approach regarding Gaza”.
