AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah met with United Nations Secretary General António Guterres, in New York on Tuesday, and commended his role in supporting efforts towards regional and international peace and stability.

King Abdullah stressed the important role of the UN and the international community in pushing the peace process forward, and relaunching negotiations between the Palestinians and the Israelis to reach just and comprehensive peace, on the basis of the two-state solution, leading to the establishment of an independent, sovereign, and viable Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, according to a Royal Court statement.
