AMMAN — The Azraq Wetland Reserve on Tuesday was classified as one of the 100 best sustainable sites in the world, according to the World Green Organisation in a global conference in Athens to celebrate World Tourism Day, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN) Director General Fadi Nassar described the award as an international recognition of RSCN’s role in managing the reserves and protecting nature.
The award is a culmination of joint efforts exerted by the RSCN, its partners and supporters, most notably the Azraq Wetland Reserve employees.
