Jordan River Foundation conducts training on decent work, sustainability for industry

The Jordan Times

AMMAN — The Jordan River Foundation (JRF), in partnership with NEX-SUS for Sustainability Solutions and with funding from the Regional Development and Protection Programme (RDPP III), has completed a specialised training programme for Jordanian industrial establishments on decent work and sustainability practices.

The programme was implemented under the Sustainable Self-Reliance for Vulnerable Syrian Refugees and Jordanian Host Communities project, according to a JRF statement.

The programme, part of a project to enhance self-reliance for Syrian refugees and host communities, aims to support the industrial sector in fostering fair, safe, and sustainable workplaces.

The programme aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 8 on Decent Work and Economic Growth.

Twenty institutions, primarily from the food, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries, participated.

The training was designed based on their direct input and focused on practical skills in environmental sustainability, social diversity management, and equal opportunity.

It also provided guidance on integrating these concepts into company policies to meet national and international standards.

The training is expected to help participants make more sustainable operational decisions, improve institutional performance, and enhance long-term competitiveness.

This initiative reflects JRF’s ongoing commitment to building partnerships, supporting the private sector, and promoting sustainable work environments in Jordan.
