Crown Prince receives Order of Renaissance from Bahraini king

AMMAN — HRH Crown Prince Hussein on Tuesday met with Bahraini King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa at Safriya Palace in Manama, according to a Royal Court statement.
 
During the meeting, attended by Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince Hussein conveyed to King Hamad the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah and his best wishes of further progress and prosperity to the Bahraini people.
 
King Hamad asked the Crown Prince to convey his greetings to King Abdullah as well, and deliver his best wishes to the Jordanian people.
 
The Bahraini king bestowed the King Hamad Order of the Renaissance of the First Class on the Crown Prince, in tribute to his efforts in boosting relations between the two countries, the statement added.
 
King Hamad and the Crown Prince stressed the deep-rooted ties binding the two countries and the keenness to advance them to higher levels, as well as the continuation of coordination and consultation on issues of mutual concern.
 
Bahrain’s monarch lauded King Abdullah’s efforts to boost bilateral relations, praising His Majesty’s stances in defending the interests of the Arab nation and supporting pan-Arab action.
 
He also hailed the role of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) and its substantial contributions in support of the Bahrain Defence Force since its establishment, as well as the distinctive competency held by JAF’s members, while the Crown Prince congratulated King Hamad on the 51st anniversary of the Bahrain Defence Force’s establishment. 
 
King Hamad underlined the importance of the Crown Prince’s visit to Bahrain in bolstering bilateral relations and exploring new prospects for joint cooperation, according to the statement. 
 
Later in the day, the Crown Prince met with the Bahraini crown prince, with talks focusing on relations between the two countries and means of developing them in all fields.
 
During a bilateral meeting, preceded by expanded talks at the Qudaibiya Palace, Crown Prince Hussein highlighted the depth of the historical relations between Jordan and Bahrain and the Kingdom’s keenness to advance them on all levels, under the leadership of King Abdullah and King Hamad.
 
Following the meeting, Prince Salman accompanied Crown Prince Hussein on a tour of the office of the First Deputy Prime Minister at the Qudaibiya Palace, where His Highness was briefed on the most important initiatives, programmes and projects supervised by the office, foremost of which are the unified framework projects of the priority government programmes, as well as the office’s supervision and follow-up of initiatives and projects in cooperation with various government agencies, the statement added.
 
Also on Tuesday, the Crown Prince visited the Bahrain Institute for Pearls and Gemstones (DANAT) in Manama.
 
During the visit, the Crown Prince was introduced to DANAT’s laboratory and departments, and listened to a briefing on the laboratory’s work mechanism and the certification process of the pearls and precious gemstones.
 
He expressed his admiration for DANAT’s role in highlighting Bahrain’s status as a global centre for the trade of natural pearls, noting Bahrain’s rich heritage in the pearling industry.
 
Minister of Finance and National Economy Sheikh Salman Bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism Zayed Bin Rashid Al Zayani and Jordan’s Ambassador to Bahrain Rami Wreikat accompanied the Crown Prince on the visit.
 
During his official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Crown Prince also met with members of the Jordanian community in the Gulf country at Wreikat’s residence.
 
The meeting was also attended by Jordanian youth participating in the Crown Prince Foundation’s Haqiq Initiative, who are accompanying the Crown Prince on the visit to Manama to benefit from examples of innovation and creativity at Bahrain’s educational and youth institutions and exchange experiences, the statement added.
 
The Haqiq Initiative implements leadership programmes to enhance youth engagement with their peers around Jordan and empower them to effect positive change in society, the statement said.
