Jordan confirms 10 new coronavirus cases, total cases rise to 596

Jordan has confirmed 10 new coronavirus cases today, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the crisis to 596 according to a statement issued by the government and the Ministry of Health.
 
Among the new cases are six people who contracted the virus from the Mafraq truck driver, including three in Zarqa, two in Irbid and one in Mafraq.
 
In addition, four truck drivers were found infected at the Al-Omari borders between Jordan and Saudi Arabia, including two Jordanians and two Arab nationals, who were sent back to their countries.
 
"Eight recovery cases were confirmed today at Prince Hamzah Hospital, where the number of active cases has reached 131," the statement indicated.
 
Nearly 4, 500 random tests have been conducted today, bringing the total number of tests conducted since the beginning of the crisis to 136, 229.

According to the statement, the 24-hour comprehensive curfew will end at midnight, after which citizens will be allowed to leave from 8 am to 7 pm based on the restrictions set before.
 
In implementation of the second phase of repatriating Jordanians stranded abroad, the first flights have taken off today and the returnees will be quarantined in hotels in Amman.
 
The statement indicated that the details of the implementation of the third phase will be announced in the coming days.
 
The National Center for Security and Crisis Management has created a number of email accounts through which complaints and inquiries regarding the procedures for the return of Jordanians from abroad, including students and stranded people, will be received. People can fill an online form with the complaint or inquiry and send it to one of the email accounts, after which the complaint or inquiry will be submitted to the concerned authorities.
