The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates announced that its diplomatic missions abroad will continue to operate despite recent political developments.
In a tweet posted Sunday, the ministry stated: "We will remain at the service of all our fellow citizens, managing their affairs with the responsibility entrusted to us in representing the Syrian people, guided by the principle that the homeland always comes first."
Addressing the Syrian people, the ministry added: "A new chapter in Syria’s history is being written today, marking the beginning of a national covenant that unites Syrians, fostering solidarity for building a just and equal nation where citizenship is paramount, far removed from the imposition of a singular viewpoint."
