AMMAN — The UNESCO Regional Bureau for Sciences in the Arab States' social and human sciences programme has elected Amman as the lead city of the Arab Coalition of Cities against Racism, Discrimination, Xenophobia and Intolerance.

The UNESCO regional bureau on Monday congratulated the Greater Amman Municipality for being elected as the lead city, which came during a virtual meeting of coalition members held on August 22, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The election of two lead cities of the coalition was reinstated, like the rest of the UNESCO global city coalitions, resulting in the election of Amman, as lead city and coordinator for a two-year term, between 2022 and 2024, UNESCO Bureau noted.
