Jordan's Prime Minister vows firm action against some media outlets

Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh has pledged a resolute approach towards certain media outlets in Jordan, emphasizing the government's commitment to taking decisive action through all legal channels.
 
During a recent cabinet session, Khasawneh urged the media to prioritize accuracy in sourcing information from official and credible channels, cautioning against the dissemination of rumors and misinformation.
 
He emphasized the need to refrain from publishing misleading news that could instigate anxiety and uncertainty, affirming that such behavior would be met with strict measures and legal recourse.
 
Khasawneh assured the public that the situation in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan remains stable, with normal operations continuing across various sectors including public services, education, healthcare, and other facilities in both the public and private domains.
 
This follows a statement from Dr. Muhannad Al-Mubaideen, Minister of Government Communications and official government spokesperson, refuting claims of a state of emergency being declared in the country. Al-Mubaideen denounced the dissemination of false information by certain media outlets, warning of legal consequences for spreading baseless rumors. He highlighted the lack of factual basis in much of the news circulated through various platforms, emphasizing that daily life continues smoothly without cause for concern among citizens.
 
Additionally, Al-Mubaideen disclosed that authorities had taken precautionary measures by temporarily closing airspace to air traffic on Saturday evening, citing surrounding security conditions as the rationale behind this decision.
