Flights resume at Queen Alia International Airport after fog delays

Roya News

Flight operations at Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) resumed on Sunday afternoon after a temporary halt due to thick fog that affected takeoff and landing earlier in the day.

The Airport International Group (AIG) confirmed to Roya News that flights were temporarily diverted to Marka Airport in Amman and King Hussein Airport in Aqaba due to visibility dropping below 500m, ensuring passenger safety.

Travelers were urged to check with airlines for the latest flight updates and resumption of services, as the suspension began early in the morning and was expected to last until the fog lifted.

ArabiaWeather reported increased humidity in areas around Zizya, the airport, and the desert road, leading to the formation of dense fog that significantly reduced visibility.

Authorities are continuing to monitor the weather and will take necessary action as conditions improve.
