AMMAN — Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti on Sunday visited the Cybersecurity and Information Technology Directorate.
During the visit, attended by several senior officers, Huneiti received a briefing on the directorate’s operations, responsibilities and plans aimed at strengthening cybersecurity systems and enhancing technological efficiency in line with rapid developments in cybersecurity and information technology, as well as the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) digital transformation strategy.
Huneiti stressed the importance of continuing modernisation and training efforts to enhance operational efficiency and safeguard systems and networks, according to a JAF statement.
He also highlighted the need to prepare specialised personnel capable of professionally addressing various cyber challenges and threats through the use of advanced technologies and systems, while strengthening coordination and integration among different Armed Forces units and formations.
The chairman underscored the importance of building an advanced and effective cybersecurity framework within the JAF capable of protecting military systems and information, ensuring operational continuity and providing a secure and reliable military cyber environment.
He noted that such efforts contribute to achieving the highest levels of efficiency, readiness and effectiveness in confronting a wide range of cyber threats.
Huneiti also toured the directorate’s various departments and reviewed ongoing development and modernisation measures implemented in line with the nature of their work.
He praised the directorate’s personnel for their professionalism and high level of efficiency in carrying out their assigned duties and responsibilities.
