AMMAN — The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) said on Sunday that an aid convoy of 26 trucks has crossed into besieged Gaza.

In a statement on Tuesday, the organisation said in a statement on Thursday that the total number of trucks sent to Gaza has reached 8,480 trucks since the start of the war [on October 7, 2023].

Besides ground relief efforts, Jordan has conducted airdrop operations of aid over Gaza, in cooperation with international partners.

The Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) said it has carried out 164 airdrops alone since the resumption of operations on July 27, besides another 400 joint missions conducted in cooperation with international partners.

Jordan also runs two filed hospitals in Gaza: one in the Strip’s north, which was established in 2009, and another in Khan Younis in the south.

The field hospital in Khan Yunis, operational since November 20, 2023, has treated more than 628,421 patients to date and is staffed by specialists across various medical disciplines, JAF said.
