AMMAN — The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) on Thursday handed over 250 school chairs to six public schools in Marka, a donation made by Al Aun Society.
The JHCO, in a statement carried by the Jordan News, Agency, Petra, said that the move is part of the efforts exerted to support the education sector, notably public schools, highlighting that it has launched several projects to improve schools’ preparedness, including rehabilitating facilities and offering computers, among others, in coordination with donor networks.
The organisation recently launched the “Your health is important to us” initiative to face the COVID-19 pandemic and support students’ return to school.
During the first phase, the initiative aims to distribute 15,000 health parcels with each consisting of four facemasks, a hand steriliser and a leaflet, targeting teachers and students in public schools.
The initiative will be implemented in cooperation with Naua, an initiative of the Crown Prince Foundation, as well as the Royal Health Awareness Society and the Ministry of Education.
The JHCO said that Ahmed Al Lozi School for boys in Jubeiha is “one of the most important success stories in this field”, where the school’s computer laboratory was renovated and provided with 16 computers, in addition to furnishing the school with light detector, printer, display screen among other equipment, as well as chairs and health parcels
