Saudi Says it Supports Comprehensive Solution to Palestinian-Israeli Conflict

Asharq Al-Awsat

Saudi Arabia supports all efforts to reach a comprehensive solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the establishment of a Palestinian state based on borders before the 1967 war, Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan said Wednesday.

In his speech at the virtual meeting of Arab foreign ministers, Prince Faisal also urged the international community to work on stopping the Iran-backed Houthi militias in Yemen from carrying out rocket attacks and launching drones on civilian areas and airports in the Kingdom.

He called for self-restraint in Libya and to preserve its unity and territorial integrity.

The minister reiterated Saudi Arabia’s call for a ceasefire in the war-torn country and stressed the importance of dialogue that prioritizes national interests.

On Iraq, he said the Kingdom backs the efforts of the Iraqis to achieve stability, protect the interests of the people and stop foreign meddling in the country’s affairs.

Prince Faisal also hoped that Lebanese officials would meet the aspirations of the people for a better future away from sectarian militias and foreign intervention.

He called for a “serious stance” against all forms of foreign meddling in Arab affairs, saying the Iranian regime’s violations and its support for armed groups are sowing "chaos and destruction" in many Arab countries.
