Italian health authorities announced Friday that cases of COVID-19 continue to rise across the country.

 

According to monitoring data released by the Ministry of Health, there were 36,777 new cases reported from September 14 to 20, representing an increase of 17.3 percent.

 

The data also revealed 117 deaths during the same week, marking an 18.2 percent increase compared to the previous week, which saw 99 fatalities.

 

During the mentioned period, 232,664 tests were conducted to detect infections.
