AMMAN — Chief Commissioner of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) Shadi Majali on Monday met with EU Ambassador to Jordan Pierre-Christophe Chatzisavas to discuss strengthening cooperation, particularly in promoting entrepreneurship and advancing sustainable economic development.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed opportunities to enhance European investment in Aqaba and expand development partnerships across southern Jordan, according to ASEZA statement.
Chatzisavas also met with a group of local entrepreneurs participating in the Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Economic Development and Employment (E4DE) project, implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) with joint funding from the EU and Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
The entrepreneurs shared their experiences and challenges, highlighting the project’s impact on business growth and ASEZA’s ongoing support. They also commended the positive role of the Aqaba Entrepreneurship Network (AEN), established under the E4DE initiative and led by ASEZA, in fostering innovation and collaboration among local startups.
The E4DE project is jointly implemented by GIZ and the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, in partnership with ASEZA and with financial support from the EU and BMZ.
