13 COVID deaths, 1,317 coronavirus cases recorded Thursday

AMMAN — Thirteen COVID-19 deaths, 1,317 virus cases, including 1,312 local infections, were recorded on Thursday, bringing the caseload to 21,517, the government announced.
 
The new fatalities took the Kingdom's death toll to 144, according to a joint statement by the Prime Ministry and the Health Ministry.
 
The local cases comprised 895 infections in Amman, 102 in Zarqa, 16 in Irbid, 27 in Balqa, 213 in Karak, 11 in Aqaba, 11 in Maan, eight in Jerash, six in Mafraq, nine in Madaba, seven in Ajloun and seven in Tafileh.
 
Meanwhile, 202 recoveries were registered during the past 24 hours, including 37 from Prince Hamzah Hospital, 140 from the Dead Sea isolation area, 11 from Queen Alia Military Hospital and 14 in accredited private hospitals, the statement said.
 
A total of 20,399 random virus tests were also conducted on Thursday, bringing the cumulative number of coronavirus tests administered since the beginning of the crisis to 1,371,511.
