Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has officially been invited by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia to participate in a follow-up to the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit scheduled to take place in Riyadh on November 11.
The invitation was communicated during a meeting on Saturday evening with Naif Bin Bandar Al-Sudairi, the non-resident ambassador of Saudi Arabia to the State of Palestine and consul-general in Jerusalem, at Abbas's residence in Amman.
During the meeting, Abbas expressed his appreciation for the invitation and extended his gratitude to both King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their ongoing efforts to halt aggression against the Palestinian people. He emphasized the importance of Saudi Arabia's role in supporting the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The upcoming summit is particularly significant as it seeks to address the severe human rights violations faced by Palestinians and the continuous attacks by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) on holy sites in Palestine. It aims to solidify Arab and Islamic solidarity in response to the escalating aggression by "Israel", not only in Palestine but also in Lebanon.
Furthermore, the summit will focus on advocating for a just resolution to the Palestinian issue, emphasizing the Palestinian people’s right to establish an independent state based on the borders prior to the June 4, 1967, lines, with East Jerusalem serving as its capital.
