King, Bahrain monarch and Abu Dhabi crown prince hold trilateral summit in UAE

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah, Bahrain King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa and Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the crown prince of Abu Dhabi and the deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces, held a trilateral summit on Wednesday in Abu Dhabi.
 
The leaders reaffirmed the deep-rooted and strategic ties between the three countries, and discussed means to advance them further, in service of shared interests, according to a Royal Court statement.
 
Discussions also covered means of stepping up cooperation and integration in a number of vital sectors, especially health, food security and pharmaceuticals, as well as joint efforts to counter the COVID-19 pandemic and mitigate its economic and humanitarian repercussions.
 
The need to continue coordination and consultation among the three countries on various issues of mutual concern, and in service of Arab interests, was also discussed.
 
Moreover, the summit covered the latest regional and international developments, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause, and the need to achieve just and comprehensive peace on the basis of the two-state solution, which guarantees the establishment of an independent, sovereign, and viable Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
 
Prime Minister Bisher Al Khasawneh, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, General Intelligence Department Director Maj. Gen. Ahmad Husni, and a number of senior Bahraini and UAE officials attended the summit.
