Worker remittances to Jordan rise 12.7% early 2026 — CBJ

AMMAN — Worker remittances to Jordan rose by 12.7 per cent in the first two months of 2026, reaching $740.1 million, according to preliminary data from the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ).
 
Outgoing remittances also increased by 11.9 per cent over the same period, totalling $307.5 million, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
 
The UAE ranked as the top source of inbound remittances, accounting for 22.7 per cent of total inflows, followed by Saudi Arabia at 19 per cent and the US at 18.3 per cent. Qatar came next, contributing 9 per cent.
 
On the outbound side, Egypt remained the primary destination for remittances from Jordan, accounting for 39 per cent of total outflows, followed by Bangladesh at 12.6 per cent and the Philippines at 4.8 per cent.
