AMMAN — Chairman of the Board of the Jordanian Charity Medicine Bank Ashraf Kilani said on Thursday that the bank will implement a project to provide secure medicine storage boxes.
In remarks to Al Mamlaka TV, Kilani highlighted the importance of supplying safe storage boxes to help reduce medication waste in households and ensure drugs are preserved for the longest possible period while maintaining required quality and safety standards.
He added that the bank will continue organising free medical days, in addition to holding the third edition of a conference showcasing the story of the Charity Medicine Bank since its establishment.
Commenting on His Majesty King Abdullah’s recent meeting with national humanitarian initiative leaders, Kilani said that Royal support serves as a strong incentive to continue the bank’s humanitarian mission.
The bank is a Jordanian non-profit health institution established under the Societies Law No. 51 of 2008 and its amendments, operating under the umbrella of the Ministry of Health.
It follows the model of charitable medicine banks in many countries worldwide and across the Arab region, providing free medications to patients in need who are unable to afford their treatment.
