His Majesty met on Monday with a number of dignitaries at the home of retired Maj. Gen. Abdellatif Ourekat, former Director General of the Royal Medical Services. His Majesty touched on his recent visit to the United States, during which he participated in UN meetings, and several topics in local and regional affairs. The king reviewed the most prominent challenges on the northern border, in which he noted that his speech at the United Nations on the Syrian issue and what is happening in the southern regions was a "warning to the world." Jordan cannot bear new burdens on the repercussions of the Syrian crisis, His Majesty said, adding that any failure to deal with them would have a negative impact on everyone. The King stressed that Jordan will not hesitate to do what is necessary to protect its borders, expressing pride in the efforts of the armed forces and security services and praising the high coordination among them to carry out their duties to protect our country from evils. On the Palestinian issue, His Majesty reiterated the importance of the two-state solution, and that there is no alternative to it. On domestic affairs, the King stressed the progress of political, economic and administrative modernization paths, reiterating that the completion of modernization paths must be synchronized in order to make them successful. During the meeting with a number of investors in the United States, His Majesty expressed happiness with their experience investing in Jordan and their desire to return to establishing new projects, noting that the administrative modernization of the state will facilitate meeting their desires.
