AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and his Palestinian counterpart Riyad Al Malki on Monday held talks discussing developments concerning the Palestinian cause, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

During the meeting, the ministers stressed the importance of stopping the Israeli violations which hinder the process of establishing peace, condemning the construction of new settlements in Rabat Shlomo and Givat Hamatos, Petra reported.

Safadi highlighted the Kingdom’s efforts in rallying financial support from international partners for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

The ministers also called for “serious and effective” negotiations to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on the basis of the two-state solution, leading to the establishment of an independent, sovereign and viable Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international law and relevant UN resolutions.
