Amman- The Ministry of Water and Irrigation condemned a series of repeated assaults by violators on the Disi water conveyor system and line, the last of which was the fourth attack since the beginning of the blanket curfew this week.

 

The ministry, in a statement, said that the violation was reported in the Daba'a area, and caused the waste of 180 m 3 per hour.

 

The violations at the Disi pipline, one of the Kingdom’s strategic water resources that meets some 55 per cent of Amman, Zarqa and Madaba's water needs, endanger the Kingdom's already scarce water resources, the statement said.

 

The statement added that ministry cadres are working round-the-clock to complete maintenance to avoid a halt in pumping resulting from repeated violations.
