The Jordan Times

AMMAN — Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh on Wednesday directed the Cabinet to set an executive plan within a specific timetable to implement the outcomes of the Economic Modernisation Vision document.

The Economic Modernisation Vision, which will be a national roadmap across governments, was launched last week at the Dead Sea under the Royal patronage, and is based on the output of the National Economic Workshop held at the Royal Hashemite Court upon Royal directives.

The Council of Ministers decided to assign a ministerial team for outlining the vision's executive programmes, to include of ministers of planning and international cooperation, state for prime ministry affairs, finance, state for follow-up and government coordination, digital economy, industry, trade and supply, environment, and investment.

The premier, during a Cabinet session, stressed the need to draw "clear" executive programmes to address the implementation of the vision, which will be carried out in three phases over 10 years.

Referring to the work of the Public Sector Modernisation Committee, Khasawneh noted that the outcomes should include an executive action plan, according to timetables that will be shared with the public.

On the political modernisation system, the PM emphasised the need for preparing executive programmes focusing on empowering youth and women, notably engaging  them into the political participation process, and pushing them to form party frameworks.
