13 underprivileged families in Jerash receive new homes through Royal Initiative

AMMAN — Thirteen underprivileged families in Jerash Governorate received their new homes on Monday, as part of the Royal Initiative for Housing Underprivileged Families.
 
These homes were provided under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah during his field visits and meetings with the governorate's residents and dignitaries.
 
Launched in 2005,  , according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
 
The Ministry of Social Development selects these families based on criteria ensuring fairness and transparency, taking into account the number of family members, income level, and health status.
 
Yousef Issawi, Chief of the Royal Hashemite Court (RHC) and head of the committee overseeing the implementation of King Abdullah’s initiatives handed over the occupancy certificates and keys to the new homes to the benefiting families.
 
The ceremony was attended by Minister of Social Development Wafaa Bani Mustafa, Governor of Jerash Firas Faour, and Jerash Mayor Ahmad Otoum.
 
Issawi and the attendees toured the new homes, which provide the needs of the beneficiaries, especially the elderly and those with special needs.
 
 
The homes were furnished and equipped with various household necessities and electrical appliances to meet the beneficiaries' needs.
 
The benefiting families expressed their deep gratitude and appreciation to His Majesty the King for his great concern in providing dignified living conditions for citizens, especially those facing difficult living and economic circumstances.
 
Issawi, accompanied by Minister of Youth Mohammad Nabulsi, inspected the ongoing construction of the semi-Olympic swimming pool project, which is part of the first phase of the Jerash Sports Complex development.
 
 His Majesty the King directed the renovation and development of the complex to transform it into a comprehensive sports city.
 
The sports city will include five-a-side football fields, volleyball courts, gardens, parks, parking spaces, and bleachers with a capacity of 208 seats, covering a total area of 5,700 square meters.
 
According to Nabulsi, similar projects will be implemented in other governorates, with current preparations underway to develop sports complexes in Balqa and Karak governorates.
 
 
Issawi said that youth are among His Majesty the King’s top priorities, as he consistently directs the launch of initiatives to empower them and harness their potential by establishing and developing sports facilities and centers. These projects provide young people with opportunities to practice various sports and activities, nurturing their talents and creativity in a safe and healthy environment, especially in remote areas.
