Syrian Prime Minister Mohammad Ghazi al-Jalali disclosed details of his final conversation with President Bashar al-Assad before the regime's downfall.

In an interview, Al-Jalali stated that he had no information about Assad's whereabouts or the timing of his departure, but he had briefed the president on the latest developments during their last call.

Al-Jalali explained that their final communication took place on Saturday evening, during which Assad responded to the current situation with, "Tomorrow, we’ll see."

He also noted that most ministers remained in Damascus and that the government would work to reintegrate 400,000 employees back into their jobs.

In a video message, Al-Jalali expressed hope for a new phase and reaffirmed his readiness to take any steps necessary to transfer power.

Meanwhile, Syrian opposition factions issued a brief statement broadcast by state television, announcing the "liberation of Damascus and the fall of Bashar al-Assad."

Reuters reported that two Syrian military officers confirmed Assad left Damascus early Sunday morning, departing via Damascus International Airport to an unknown destination.
