According to a report by Reuters, US diplomats convened today in Damascus with representatives of Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS), as confirmed by the US State Department.

 

The discussions focused on several key issues, including the power transition in Syria, regional developments, and strategies to strengthen efforts against Daesh.

 

Additionally, the meeting addressed the status of an American journalist and other citizens who have been missing under the Assad regime.

 

 

The US is actively seeking information regarding their whereabouts and working to ensure their safe return.

 

The US Embassy in Syria stated that the meeting discussed supporting a comprehensive Syrian-led political process leading to a government that respects the rights of Syrians.
