AMMAM — Police on Tuesday said they have arrested a Lebanese minor whoallegedly killed his friend and injured his father earlier in the day.

 

The incident occurred at the victims’ house at dawn on Tuesday, Police Spokesperson Lt. Col. Amer Sartawi said.

 

“An argument ensued between the three, and ended with the Lebanese minor stabbing and killing his Jordanian friend,” according to Sartawi.

 

The victim’s father was also injured during the stabbing incident, the police official maintained.

 

Investigators seized a weapon at the crime scene and “sent it to the Forensic and Laboratories Department (FLD) for further analysis,” according to Sartawi.

 

Forensics also took blood and tissue samples from the victim “to be tested by FLD experts,” he added.

 

The juvenile prosecutor is expected to start questioning the suspect today or tomorrow, a senior judicial source said.

 

Meanwhile, the suspect was ordered detained at a juvenile correctional facility pending further investigations, the senior judicial source added.
