The International Day for the Eradication of Poverty is a day celebrated each year on October 17, across the world. This year's theme is "Acting together to achieve social and environmental justice for all."

 

 

According to the Department of Statistics(DoS) in 2017-2018, the poverty rate among Jordanians reached 15.7%, which showed that 1,069 million Jordanians are within the poverty range.

 

In addition, the hunger rate in Jordan reached 0.12%. As for the poverty gap it reached 3.5%, while the depth of poverty rate totaled 1.2%, according to DoS.
