AMMAN — Royal Court Chief Yousef Issawi on Saturday met with a delegation of some 350 representatives from Zarqa Governorate to follow up on the needs and developmental priorities raised during His Majesty King Abdullah’s visit to the governorate on Tuesday. 

 

The meeting, held at the Royal Hashemite Court and attended by Advisor to His Majesty for Tribal Affairs Kneiaan Bluwi, was in implementation of His Majesty’s directives to address the concerns of Zarqa’s citizens and enhance their living standards, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

 

Issawi stressed that King Abdullah places the welfare of Jordanian citizens at the core of national priorities, guided by the firm belief that the nation’s strength is rooted in human dignity and empowerment.

 

During the meeting, moderated by Zarqa Governor Firas Abu Gaoud, Issawi conveyed the pride of His Majesty and HRH Crown Prince Hussein in the people of Zarqa, commending their decades of contributions and sacrifices in safeguarding the Kingdom’s achievements.

 

He underlined that Zarqa, some 22 kilometres northeast of Amman, holds significant national and historical weight, noting that Royal directives focus on bolstering developmental and service projects to generate employment and upgrade infrastructure.

 

Issawi added that Royal initiatives and government plans, detailed by Prime Minister Jafar Hassan during the Royal visit, aim to realise His Majesty’s vision for Zarqa’s economic revitalisation.

 

He further noted that the King has established a consistent approach of direct communication with citizens to listen to their demands and maintain a transparent dialogue regarding national challenges.

 

At the regional level, Issawi highlighted the King’s tireless diplomatic efforts in defending Arab causes, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause, and the protection of Islamic and Christian sanctities in Jerusalem.

 

For their part, attendees expressed their appreciation for the King’s field-based approach and the recent Royal visit to the governorate.

 

They specifically lauded the Zarqa Industrial City project, which His Majesty recently inspected, describing it as a primary engine for investment and job creation.

 

The delegation called for providing incentives to investors within the industrial city, particularly regarding land lease costs, energy expenses, and the supply of natural gas and renewable energy solutions.

 

In light of the upcoming 80th anniversary of the Kingdom’s Independence, attendees extended their congratulations to King Abdullah and the Crown Prince, reaffirming their steadfast support for the Hashemite leadership.

 

The representatives presented a list of demands spanning health, education, infrastructure, and agriculture.

 

Key requests included the establishment of a hospital in western Zarqa, upgrading primary health centres to comprehensive ones, and addressing the debt issues between private hospitals and the government.

 

In the education sector, speakers called for building new schools to reduce overcrowding and the double-shift system, alongside establishing vocational training centres to empower youth and women in line with the Crown Prince's vision.

 

Other demands included creating a complex for government departments in the Hashemiyah District, supporting the Women’s Union and local charities, and assisting farmers by providing fodder sales centres in Berin.

 

Environmental concerns were also raised, specifically the need to address the pollution of the Zarqa River and improve waste management services.

 

At the end of the meeting, Issawi assured the delegation that all requests have been documented for follow-up with relevant authorities, reiterating that the Royal Hashemite Court remains a "house for all Jordanians" and a bridge between the leadership and the people.
