Thursday, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi held extensive discussions with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
The talks between the Jordanian and Russian officials addressed the ongoing Israeli Occupation aggression in Gaza and Lebanon, the escalating situation in the occupied West Bank, and various violations committed by Israeli Occupation, which are pushing the region toward the brink of war, according to a statement issued by the Jordanian Foreign Ministry on Friday.
The two ministers also explored efforts to resolve the Syrian crisis, emphasizing the need for a political solution to end the conflict and address its humanitarian, security, and political ramifications.
During their meeting, Safadi and Lavrov reaffirmed the depth of the bilateral relations between Jordan and Russia, discussing ways to enhance cooperation in multiple fields. This dialogue took place on the sidelines of the high-level week of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
